Farstad Shipping ASA is a public Norwegian company owning and operating offshore support vessels. The company’s head office is in Aalesund and the shares are listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company’s focus is on being a leading provider of quality offshore support vessels to the international oil and gas industry. The company is owning and operating a fleet of large and advanced vessels, consisting of AHTS (anchor handling tug supply vessel), PSV (platform supply vessel) and CSV (construction subsea vessel) supporting rig activities and other offshore related services world wide. Presently the company’s vessels are working in the North Sea, Brazil, West Africa, India, South East Asia and Australian waters. With focus on safety, environment and efficiency the company is continously renewing and modernizing its fleet to meet future demands. By the end of June 2009, the fleet consists of 54 vessels. In addition, 3 AHTS-vessels are under construction for delivery within mid 2010. All the newbuilds are ordered at Norwegian yards. In addition to the head office in Aalesund, the company’s activities are managed from Aberdeen in Scotland, Melbourne and Perth in Australia, Singapore, and Macaé in Brazil with altogether 155 onshore based employees.
