When Norsk GlassGjenvinning and Norsk MetallGjenvinning got together to solve the sorting problem we got a plant that separates glass, steel and aluminium from each other. Nothing similar was available anywhere else in the world.

This trail-blazing work resulted in consumers being able to deliver used metal packaging to the same collection container to which they had been delivering glass for many years. At the same time simpler handling and transport solutions were made possible in the municipalities since glass and metal could be dealt with together.

THE WORLD’S FIRST PLANT FOR OPTICAL COLOUR SORTING OF GLASS
Norsk GlassGjenvinning can once again present good news to the world: A plant for optical colour sorting of glass. The sorting is so accurate that different shades of the same colour are sorted from each other during continuous computer screen monitoring.

The plant has a capacity of more than 25 tonnes of glass per hour and has colour purity of 99.8%! It has already drawn great attention internationally that we have managed to produce glass raw material with such a high purity level. It opens up many new and exciting application opportunities.

RESEARCH AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Active cooperation with industry and the country’s foremost research circles has led to a range of innovative products in recent years.

Norsk GlassGjenvinning AS is the owner and producer of foam glass, under the brand Glasopor. The Glasopor product range consists of Glasopor pellets, Glasopor building blocks and Glasopor facade elements. The products has a high level of insulation, non-absorbent, and 100 % fire proof. All Glasopor products are produced 100 % from recycled glass from Norsk GlassGjenvinning AS.
