Ola Tronrud founded Tronrud Engineering AS in 1977. Since then, the company has grown vigorously. Most of its earnings have been invested in further development of its human resources and technical facilities. Among a various range of tasks, defence equipment and services to the armed forces has been an important business for the company from far back in time. As a result of this the company have recruited former maintenance officers from the Norwegian armed forces technical crews. To day this kind of personnel makes up over 10% of our staff. Your participation streamlines the process Throughout the process, from the idea to the end product, we work in close cooperation with you. We choose this way of working to ensure that you get the optimal solution, fulfilling your wishes and military specifications for the product. R&D In cooperation with the customer and/or in our management we have done a broad range of research and development projects. With basis in a set of theories we work on by empirical methods, because we have learned that that is what putting ideas into practice is all about. Design and engineering All design is carried out using state of the art Cad-systems. We have worked with 3D-Cad since the early 90’s. We also use Cad to design electrical systems when these are a part of our projects. Production of parts An optimal combination between using manually and CNC controlled machinery are the strength of this department. The machinery equipment is in the cutting edge of today. We are using common welding techniques like TIG, MIG and MAG. This department also contain a small workshop for sheet metal production. Software development Our software development staffs are highly skilled and have a long experience in programming and employing a wide range of systems. Defence & Security This department is established to serve this special category of customers and to employ the other departments to the best purpose of the projects. In the pictures of this presentation are some of our previous developed products for the defence and security market segment: LUV weapon stand The weapon stand is designed to carry a Ring Mount with Soft Mount and a 12,7mm machine gun. The stand is adaptable to all kinds mount’s and LUV’s (Light Utility Vehicles). The vehicles rollover protection is an integrated function of the stand. The photo shows the stand on a ISAF vehicle with the Ring Mount, Soft Mount and the 12,7mm machine gun on top. From this configuration the LUV is ready for helicopter deployment in just a couple of minutes. The simple routine is to dismount the 12,7mm machine gun and the Soft Mount and tilting the top of the stand upside down. This configuration makes the LUV very low and enables it for deployment by driving directly in to a medium sized helicopter. When deployed, the “ready for combat routine” is carried out just as fast as the “ready for deployment routine”. The LUV weapon stand for MB 240 and MB 290 NATO stock # is: 2510-25-151-6395) Automatic Bore Cleaner The Automatic Bore Cleaner (ABC) works both fast (>300mm/sec) and quietly (<70dB). The ABC works unattended while the Technical Crew is attending to other tasks. The ABC can save a parametric set-up for several CV’s and barrels to be selected when needed. For each CV set-up the operator can initiate the following programs: Oiling, Complete barrel cleaning program, Chamber cleaning program or Intensive barrel cleaning within a specified area in the barrel. The ABC can be mounted in a matter of minutes without the use of any tools. The ABC’s Nato stock #: 4933-25-152-4993 Recoil Process Data Logger for CV’s The Recoil Process Data Logger (RPDL) stores a CSV file for every recoil process. The device can easily bee adapted to all kinds of guns, both on artillery and on combat vehicles. The Data Processing Unit (DPU) extracts the recoil length from the CSV file and displays it in large numbers for the gunner on the built in DPU display. Also the diagram below is extracted from such a CSV file. The CSV files in the DPU are easily accessible by viewing them with, or downloading them to, a laptop computer or a PDA. The complete set of process data lends it self well to stress analyzing of the barrel and recoil system, e.g. the DPU automatically estimates the EFC factor. Further more, to give early warnings for maintenance needs and accidents alike. The RPDL’s Nato stock # is: 1025-25-151-6294 NM 192F1 NM 192F1 is a 155mm inert shell, designed for internal ballistics analysis. Due to its high drag, the NM 192F1 is suitable for heavy-duty firing in short firing ranges, e.g. for weapon qualifications after maintenance. Because of the NM 192F1’s superb ballistic stability, a well known global propellant manufacturer have used the NM 192F1 as a reference in its development of new propellant. The NM 192F1 Nato stock # is: 1320-25-147-4877/1 FalconEye The FalconEye is a powerful torch/flashlight developed specially for the professional market. The FalconEye is used by various armed forces such as army forces, naval forces, air forces, anti-terror forces, police forces etc. There are a lot of accessories for the FalconEye. E.g. IR-filter and other optics, mountings for weapons, mountings for vehicles, etc. The FalconEye Nato stock # is: 6230-25-149-0749 FalconEye Bracket for SoftMount Tronrud Engineering has in cooperation with Vinghøg AS designed a bracket for rapidly attaching the FalconEye torch/flashlight to Vinghøg’s SoftMount for 12.7mm machine guns. The combination of visible light and firepower has a constructive effect on forces which represent a danger to peacekeeping forces. Norwegian troops deployed in international tasks for UN and NATO uses this configuration of visible light together with the possibility of heavy firepower. Weapon Security Locks The pictures illustrate the size of the security locks. The locks’ small sizes allow the weapons to stay assembled when inserted. The shapes are similar to the head of the rifle bolt in the respective weapons, and therefore lock into position with same principle as the rifle bolt. The lock with the yellow indicator tag is designated for Heckler Koch (H&K) weapons the slightly smaller circular lock are for Colt C7 and similar Colt weapons. One of the pictures shows the H&K MP5 locked and secured. |
